Open Access Licensing

Open access statement

Solar Cell Insights is a fully open-access journal. All articles are freely available to read, download and share from the moment of publication. There is no subscription, no paywall, and no embargo period. Readers do not need to register to read an article.

Copyright

Authors retain copyright in their work. Publication in Solar Cell Insights does not transfer copyright to the publisher. Authors grant the journal the right of first publication.

Licence

Decision required — licence   No licence has been formally chosen. The text below assumes CC BY 4.0 — the DOAJ-preferred default, which satisfies Plan S and most European funder mandates and is the least friction for authors. CC BY-NC-ND is more restrictive, will fail some funder mandates, and can complicate a DOAJ Seal application.

Articles are published under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence (CC BY 4.0). This means anyone may copy, redistribute, adapt and build upon the work, including commercially, provided the original authors and source are credited and any changes are indicated. The licence is stated on every article page and in the article metadata.

Author rights and self-archiving

Authors may deposit the submitted, accepted and published versions of their article in any repository — institutional, subject-based or personal — at any time, with no embargo. We ask only that the deposited version links to the published article by DOI.

Reuse of third-party material

Where a manuscript reproduces a figure, table or extended quotation from another source, it is the author's responsibility to obtain permission for reuse under the journal's licence and to provide the correct attribution. Material that cannot be licensed compatibly must be redrawn or removed.

Machine-readable licensing

The licence URL is placed in the article metadata and in the Crossref deposit, so that funder compliance tools and DOAJ can read it automatically. This is handled natively once the licence is configured under Settings → Distribution.
