Data Availability
Why this policy exists
Reproducibility is one of the research themes this journal exists to serve. A result that cannot be checked cannot be built on, and a negative result in particular is only useful if a reader can see exactly what was done.
The data availability statement — mandatory
Every article published in Solar Cell Insights carries a Data Availability Statement. Authors complete this at submission. If data cannot be shared, the statement must say so and give the reason; "data available on request" is accepted only where a genuine restriction applies.
What we ask authors to deposit
- Raw current–voltage data for every device reported, not only the champion device
- Spectral and time-resolved datasets underlying the figures
- Full fabrication parameters, including the ones that are usually omitted — ambient humidity, annealing profile, batch dates, substrate source
- Measurement conditions: illumination source and calibration, spectral mismatch correction, scan rate and direction, preconditioning, aperture and active area, temperature
- Analysis scripts and fitting routines where results depend on them
Minimum reporting requirements for device data
Where device performance is reported, manuscripts must state the number of devices measured, the distribution of the key parameters across that set, the active area and how it was defined, and the illumination calibration used. Champion-device values reported without the underlying distribution will be queried at review.
Where to deposit
Any recognised general or subject repository is acceptable — for example Zenodo, figshare, Dryad, or an institutional repository. Datasets should be cited in the reference list with their own DOI. Small supporting files may alternatively be uploaded as supplementary material to the article itself.
Code and analysis scripts
Analysis scripts and fitting routines should be deposited alongside the data where the reported results depend on them, using the same repositories above.
