Archiving Preservation
Solar Cell Insights is committed to the permanent availability of everything it publishes.
- Articles are deposited in the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), a distributed dark archive operated by the Public Knowledge Project, which preserves content and makes it available if the journal ceases to operate.
- Every article is assigned a DOI registered with Crossref, so citations resolve even if the journal's web address changes.
- Article metadata is exposed through an OAI-PMH interface, allowing harvesting by discovery services and repositories.
- Authors are free to deposit the published version in any repository with no embargo, providing a further layer of redundancy.
- Full journal backups, including the database and all article files, are taken on a regular schedule and stored separately from the production server.
Configuration needed The PKP Preservation Network plugin is free and included with OJS — it needs only to be enabled (Plugins → Generic → PKP Preservation Network). Until it's on, the first bullet above isn't true yet.
